Professional and Amateur golfers qualify for the individual and team events.

The Long List will comprise of 07 male players and 05 female players - to be finalised by end January 2026
The Short List will comprise of 3 men and 3 women - to be finalised by end March 2026. All players have to be citizens of Sri Lanka.

Criteria to be selected into Long List

Professionals

1. OWGR as of 25th January 2026
2. Be playing in a recognized tour by end January

Amateurs - Men and Women

1. WAGR as of 25th January 2026
2. Participate in October 2025, November 2025 and January 2026 Ranking Tournaments - compulsory for those based in Sri Lanka
3. For those based overseas - scores returned in October 2025 to January 2026. Course Rating and course length to be submitted to SLG by the golf coach of the university. Scores returned in a university team trial have to be certified by the golf coach of the university.
4. Scores returned in Overseas tournaments for those based in Colombo - Amateur Open tournaments which have been sanctioned by SLG. Results in junior tournaments will not be considered.
5. Maximum playing handicap 3 for men and women

Those available to participate in the Asian Games 2026, and trials, should submit their names to Duminda via WhatsApp by 10th October 2025.
